Richard Kang has the experience of over 25 New York Stock Exchange listed ETF launches since May 2009. Richard was one of three founders and Chief Investment Officer at eEmpering Global Advisors LLC based and managed ETFs woth underlying exposures in emerging and frontier markets.

Over his 20 years of busy-side experience, RIchard has had senior roles ar a hedge fund, fund-of-hedge fund, invesment counseling firm, index provider and ETF issuer/manager.

Mr. Kang has earned the Financial Risk Manager designatio from the Global Association of Risk Professionals and has recently taught the "Fundamentals of Portfolio Management" course at NYU's School of Professional Studies. He sits on FTSE's Country Classification Indexing Commitee as well as the editorial board of The Journal of Index Investing, the only academic journal for the indexing and ETF industry.

Strong leadership, management and communication skills, combined with a talent for effective decisions and a deep insight into the risk management function, provides a proven track record in delivering practical business solutions. Over 25 years of experience gained inside the Financial Services Industry, consulting in corporate governance, risk management, compliance and audit. Major Accomplishments:


• Identified business opportunities, built business cases and established strong diverse quantitative teams in consulting and internal audit which served nationwide needs in modeling, derivatives pricing and risk management assurance across all business segments.

• Initiated and incubated successful early adoption of industry leading practices in Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Computer Assisted Tools & Techniques (CATTs).

• Co-founded the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA), sat on the Board of Directors for seven years, strategized PRMIA development and its global chapter network, leading the treasury and finance functions.
